International Workshop

In August 2012, the management company KKCG Real Estate completed the acquisition of the SPV “Shopping and Office Centrum Bořislavka s.r.o.”, which owns a land plot in Prague 6 on evropská street – a bustling urban thoroughfare that connects the centre of the Czech capital to Václav Havel International Airport. Given the character and prominence of the location, the decision was made to invite major domestic and foreign architects to participate in the international bořislavka workshop, designed to facilitate the search for the ideal solution as to what kind of multi-purpose building to erect on this land plot, with its challenging geometry and complicated urban context: an inspired and contemporary solution, elevating the culture of public space, representative of the client, and at the same time serving the local population and visitors of Prague 6, and serving them well. The goal was a functional architecture that would be fully accessible and permeable to pedestrian traffic; an architecture that, while self-confident in its own right, would also fit in with the variegated existing buildings in the vicinity; an architecture with iconic potential.

The urban design and architecture of the office and shopping complex BOŘISLAVKA CENTRUM (Bořislavka Centre) was created by an international architectural workshop attended by ten renowned world and Czech studios. Bellow pls find some of the work from other selected participants.
